Eliminate the risks when buying fleet vehicles

Kiwis are attached to their cars – we have one of the highest rates of vehicle ownership in the world^ – and are a nation of drivers given our geography and infrastructure. We also tend to buy vehicles on credit – around 70% of all new cars in New Zealand are bought using finance according to the AA.

In the latter half of 2022, we saw a national rise in vehicle finance arrears. Vehicle arrears are indicative of tough times, given it’s usually one of the last repayments New Zealanders let slip.

If you are buying a company car, or several fleet vehicles, it’s important to ensure you know what you’re buying and whether there is any outstanding debt on the vehicle. Your business could be exposed to risk and unwittingly take on debt if you don’t check previous ownership and finance details.

Give yourself and your business peace of mind when checking vehicle ownership and registration. Our Centrix Vehicle Ownership Report provides easy access to the New Zealand Transport Agency’s (Waka Kotahi) data, and the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) to show if there are other claims on the vehicle.

You can also choose any other information you need, from Waka Kotahi details and Redbook valuations, to Ministry of Justice court fines, to fuel economy and emissions ratings.

For more information, have a look at our Vehicle Ownership Check page.

You’ll need to open an account with Centrix which is easy to do online, with no joining or ongoing fees. Our team are always happy to help with any questions about Vehicle Ownership Reports* on 0800 236 874 or via email at helpdesk@centrix.co.nz.
